Cai Guo-Qiang’s black rainbow

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Dear Cai,

In the middle of the rainbow, the arch of your heart, there is a black space. Rather, many of them. But it arches and soars. it searches for the top of the sky, not knowing or needing to know if it will never get there.

love,

Jessica

Letter to Theo Jensen

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

theo jansen

Dear Theo,

Today was a pretty hard. I am not going to go into it. It’s not unique. Infact, it’s so common that 60% of the songs in the world already say my feelings better for me. Anyways, I am not writing to complain. Really I just want to say thank you. You are my hero. I love the image of you above, pulling the magical beast of yours behind you. We each seem to have one we pull around with us. I guess our beasts are just how we make them. Yours is great. Thanks again.

pool

Tomorrow I am going to meet up with my friend Ryan and try to make a chandelier sing. Details once the experiment has been made to come…

This image above is currently my desktop - it is a collage by agnes montgomery. Her collages take baths with bears, fly in wooden boats and bring you to the festival you wished happened every summer.

I just got back from a 1 month non-sequitur journey; Nebraska, Italy & Costa Rica - Family, Friends then Surf. I just wish they could all be in Costa Rica at the same time along with my job. Now that I am back in the damp and cold New York I am happy to see my home and friends of 10 years, back to working hard and ready to start on my projects. I am kind of an octopus with my mitts in lots of pots but my creative projects always need a little fuel, so does living. That’s where I am and that’s what this is. This is the place that I collect the inspiration information...
